PAPUA New Guinea Squash Racquets Federation has appointed Marc Forster as national coach. Preparations are underway for the 2027 Pacific Games in Tahiti.

Forster grew up in the Highlands region and Port Moresby. He is PNG’s former elite and has coached the national team in several international tournaments.

These includes the 2015 and 2019 Pacific Games in PNG and Samoa respectively and the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

This appointment aims to inspire young PNG squash representatives. They are encouraged to also use the World Squash Federation /World Squash Officiating Coaching (WSF/WSO) pathways. These pathways have been available since 2023.

With Oceania Squash Federation and Port Moresby Racquets Club support, PNG Squash have the following WSF/WSO accredited Coaches; Amity  Alarcos, Imong Brooksbank, Gabriella Cox and Troy Siaguru.

Athlete selection takes place under a rigorous process with the PNG Olympic Committee.

PNGSRF president Lady Anna Togolo said, “Since 2022 our focus has been developing junior participation and competition for Tahiti 2027.”

“The recent bronze at the 2025 Samoa Oceania Closed competition for our young Mens team led by Feanor and Joshua has sent a message to the region.”

“The Queensland Juniors and Cairns Juniors also saw the best results for our juniors in the past decade.”

“With our Juniors Timonaliz Alarcos-Kriebisch making an impact on the European Junior circuit and Gabriella Cox move to Cairns under Coach Marc we are building the capacity for PNG’s future regional representation.”

Meanwhile the PNG Olympic Committee Selection process for National Federations has commenced towards Tahiti 2027.
