The Papua New Guinea Lewas have concluded their campaign at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier 2026. Their final match was against the United States of America on Monday afternoon in Kathmandu, Nepal.

United States won by five wickets (111/5) after 18.0 Overs defeating Lewas (110/5) in their final match at the Mulpani Cricket Ground.

Despite the narrow loss, the PNG Lewas demonstrated determination throughout the tournament, proudly representing PNG on the international stage.

Cricket PNG acknowledges the PNG Lewas players, coaching staff, management, and support personnel. They are acknowledged for their dedication and commitment during the campaign.

Cricket PNG also extends its sincere appreciation to its key partners: PacificAus Sports, the Australian High Commission, and Cricket Australia. Their continued support has been vital for the development and growth of women’s cricket in PNG.

The experience gained from this global qualifier will contribute significantly to the ongoing development of the PNG Lewas. They will continue their journey in international cricket.

The Lewas return home to Port Moresby tomorrow (Thursday).
