PAPUA New Guinea’s rising boxing superstar Mili ‘Mayhem’ Saul has claimed the 2025 World Boxing Council (WBC) Australasian Bantamweight Title after defeating her opponent.

Saul’s performance at Surfers Paradise in Gold Coast, Australia came after a dominant 4th round Technical Knockout (TKO) victory last Saturday.

“This win wasn’t just for me. It was for my family, my children Samuel and Marley, and for Papua New Guinea. I am proud of my heritage and want to lift PNG up on the world stage.”

“It means everything to me to fly the PNG flag in the ring and show the world that we have great athletes who train hard, compete hard and show that we belong at the elite levels,” she said.

Saul, who hails from Goodenough Island in Milne Bay Province, overwhelmed her opponent with power and precision, recording three knockdowns before the referee waved off the contest in the fourth round.

The emphatic victory cements her position as one of PNG’s brightest sporting talents and a serious contender on the international boxing scene.

With her latest title secured under coach Glenn Azar, Saul now sets her sights on the upcoming PNG National Titles, where she aims to claim another national crown and earn selection to represent Team PNG at the Commonwealth Games.

“I want to thank everyone who supports me, the PNG Boxing Union, and my team, together we’re taking PNG to the world,” she added.

Meanwhile her meteoric rise and unwavering dedication continue to inspire athletes across PNG.

Her victories are not just personal triumphs, they are a symbol of national pride, perseverance, and the power of believing in something bigger than yourself.
