RECA Engineering Mgt tennis duo Glenn Cabasug and William Thomas continue winning streak following the conclusion of round 4 matches in the Lae Tennis Club Doubles tournament.
The match served off last Monday with good weather again for Division A as team Reca took on Chemcare Group on Court 1 for Levels 1/2s.
Cabasug and young William Thomas, continued their unbeaten streak, winning over reserve Ronald Naya and young Stacy Thomas with a convincing 6-1.
The Level 3/4s match saw Chemcare’s Jackson Vasilli and young Emmanuel Nixon race out to a 4-1 lead, and looked to level up the sets.
But coming from behind Reca’s Rodello Pedroza and Jeff Yuill fought back and won the next 5 games to steal the second set 6-4 from Chemcare.
With the extra Bonus 1 point, Team Reca now extends their lead on the Ladder board with another 3 points.
Meanwhile on Court 2, Lae Biscuit Company’s Level 3/4 reserves, Eugene Leahy and Ari Brahmadi, beat Raumai 18’s Martin Caberio and reserve Richard Pomare 6-3 taking the first set for the biscuit makers.
However, the Level 1/2s match saw Raumai 18’s young Christopher Jose and Gerry Cabasug play a level higher in a clinical performance against young Irene Jose and Eugene (playing twice) to win 6-1.
At 2 sets a piece, Raumai snatches the bonus point, with a 9-7 advantage in total game points and adds 2 to their tally on the Ladder board, while LBC settles for 1.
